Is it me or haven’t you noticed that buildings in America are plain, flat and boring (to say the least) - architectural designs tend to be bolder in Europe. With that said, while browsing through one of the Wallpaper* magazine which was sitting on my coffee table, I ran into this interesting must see site in Seville, Spain – the Metropol Parasol – an enormous undulating timber structure a with a interlocking honeycomb roof.

This building, designed by Jürgen Mayer H, a rising Berlin-based architect, is the largest wooden building in the world located in Plaza de la Encarnacíon.

Located at Plaza de la Encarnacion, the beautiful series of undulating parasols comprise the world’s largest wooden structure. Metropol’s interlocking honeycomb of wooden panels rise from concrete bases, which are positioned to form canopies and walkways below the parasols. The building was designed by Jürgen Mayer H, a rising Berlin-based architect.

Interesting Fact: Locals refer to this site as “Setas de la Encarnación,” or in English “Mushrooms of Incarnation”. I guess this is due to the way the rise from the ground up? They look like a combination of mushrooms and waffles .

Here are some cool pics of the site enjoy.

Barcelona beat Manchester United in a final where the Catalans dominated the British (3-1). The victory consolidates Barça as the best team out there. Pedro, Leo Messi and David Villa certified Barça’s win with their goals.

Champion of champions. Barça have won their fourth Champions League at the legendary Wembley Stadium

– where they managed to win the first 19 years ago – after beating Manchester United (3-1) and confirming that it is currently the best team in the world.

Ten minutes after the starting whistle is all the British team had offer. The kick-off of the ‘Red Devils’ was overwhelming, a suffocating pressure to reach the goal protected by Victore Valdés. Barca went to sleep, perhaps impressed by the strength of his rival, played by Park who ate Alves in his band.

But it was that, ten minutes. A mirage for the British team, because from that point on, Barcelona took the ball and would not let go of it for the remaining 80 minutes. Xavi and Messi took over the midfield against a team that did not bite and that was completely overcome.

Chances began to happen for the Catalans. A shot from Villa was slightly off, two raids from Pedro and several long dribbles from Messi did not conclude successfully and were only the prelude to the goal. A perfect ball, as usual from Xavi Hernandez, left only to Pedro, who defined a master – and the party had started.

The end seemed decanted, with a far superior team who was ahead in the scoreboard. But the last thing the Red Devils will loose is their pride. In an isolated play, Barça lost the ball where where they shouldn’t have and Wayne Rooney tied the game after a great play between him and Giggs (in which the Welshman appeared to be offside). The tie that came with the break was not fair, there was only one team at Wembley.

And the second part was an undisputed monologue from the team managed by Pep Guardiola. For many many years not seen such superiority in the final of the Champions League. The United did not smell the ball and could not believe the avalanche of Barcelona’s game.

With so much superiority, it was impossible not presence more goals. Leo Messi scored the second goal after a long shot from outside the box which was out of Van der Sar’s reach.

The game was totally broken in favor of Barcelona and it was the time to sentence it. Another shot from outside the box, this time from David Villa, left almost doomed the final after 68 minutes of play.

The United wanted to react, but could not. Their football was much weaker than Barca’s. Futbol Club Barcelona conquered their fourth European Champion League and becomes one of the worl’s greats.

Autodesk, Inc. introduced a new version of the company’s popular Autodesk SketchBook Pro for iPad 2 – designed to take full advantage of the new features and processing power. This new release combines high-quality digital pencils, pens, markers and airbrushes so anyone can create amazing rich, high-quality digital artwork with powerful sketching tools.

What’s makes this more impressive is the enhanced the portability between apple devices (iOS)… yes, it’s what you’re thinking, users can start creating an image on an iPhone and continue working on it on an iPad or on a Mac – Impresive.

Autodesk’s new SketchBook Pro app for iPad offers around 90 new brushes and controls. Together with the new customizable palettes and gestures, users can instantly access their favorite brushes and colors.

These are some of the new features of the Autodesk SketchBook Pro for iPad 2, users will now be able to:

- Import photos directly to the layer editor from iPad 2′s camera

- Create high-resolution canvases at 2,048-by-1,536–pixel resolution with up to four layers for an image output of 5-by-7 inches at 300 dpi or 8-by-10 inches at 200 dpi

- Standard 1,024-by-768 canvases can now have up to 12 layers

- Export and import images through Dropbox within the app to easily transport work between iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and Mac.

This app is priced at $4.99 on the app store. I consider this to be a great buy - a must have app if you like to doodle, draw or illustrate.

In addition, this app provides an in-app store, offering five new brush sets with unique brush types, textures and stamps and more.

As Samir Hanna, vice president of consumer products at Autodesk has put it “Unparalleled sketching capabilities on iPad just got better”.
